Content Management

You don't want to contact your web designer every time you want to make a small change on your website. With a Content Management System (CMS) you have control over the content on your website without having to worry about the technical aspects.

When it comes to keeping content up-to-date we recommend and also support an off-the-shelf piece of software called Adobe Contribute (from the same company that created the PDF document standard).

Why Adobe Contribute?

Adobe Contribute is genuinely simple to use, and doesn’t require any technical knowledge of how websites are constructed. If you know how to browse the web and you can use word processing software like Microsoft Word, you're already half-way there to understanding Contribute.

What’s more, it protects your site so you can edit content without worrying about whether you’re wrecking the design or not. And if the text is already prepared in Word that’s no problem at all, because you can paste it straight in.

As well as supporting the software we also offer training. If it's so easy to use, you might ask why. Well, every piece of software has a learning curve, so our 1 hour session helps smooth that out. And we'll show you how to handle special elements like images, links and hidden content for the search engines.

What about complex websites?

It's true that no off-the-shelf Content Management System can handle the every situation. For complex websites that use a database or have specialised features, a custom solution will always be required. But our customers like the ease of use and familiarity of Contribute. Which is why we've developed a special way of integrating our own software with Contribute to get the best of both worlds: flexibility and familiarity.

In our clients' own words:

“Thank you very much for advising us to get Contribute and training me how to use it. It's so simple, quick and easy to use.”

“One of the main requirements was to have a site that could be easily edited and maintained by us at the Tourism Skills Network. This requirement was met perfectly through the installation of Adobe Contribute. This program meets our needs completely, and the training given by Sam at World Without Walls was excellent, allowing even the least technically minded of us to use the program effectively.”
