Who is World Without Walls?
Meet the team
Paul Masri is the founder & owner of World Without Walls and he will be your first point of contact for any project. With more than 10 years' experience creating websites and a PhD in computer modelling, no brief will be too daunting. Fortunately he understands business & marketing and prides himself on communicating in plain English so you don't need to be worried about being bombarded with technical jargon.
Sam Ramsay joined World Without Walls for 3 months… and has been with the company over 3 years. Clearly it's just too much fun. Sam does most of the behind-the-scenes work, from constructing websites to building the custom software for special features. You'll no doubt speak to Sam at some point as he provides support alongside Paul. And although he's a self-confessed techie, he too speaks plain English.
Sam Scholfield joined us recently. Despite the economic downturn we're in demand and we needed to expand. We needed another Sam, but perhaps we shouldn't have been so literal. 'New Sam' is on a year's internship before he returns to uni for his final year studying Web Design. He's already shown us he knows his stuff and we're also glad to be training him on lots more.

We recently hired a new member of staff so we don't expect to be expanding again anytime soon. However, we are always interested in talented and motivated individuals so you're welcome to send us your CV with online portfolio and cover letter by post or email.
We may not be hiring immediately but when we're ready to recruit, we'll be in touch again if you appear to fit the bill.
If you're a recruitment company, please see our special notes for you below.
If you're a freelancer based in or near Bristol, do get in touch. We may not be able to use your services straightaway but we may be ready for an exploratory chat.
Help us fill the gaps
If you provide any of the following services, we'd love to hear from you. As you can see from our existing extended team (below) we like to foster a close working relationship with freelance professionals who are good enough to rave about. The services we are most interested in are copywriting and translation.
Our Extended Team
We couldn't achieve our full range of services in any realistic timescale if it wasn't for our extended team. They have their own businesses, but as we've looked long and hard to find these gems and have been working closely with each of them for considerable time, we have no problem promoting their services to you. In fact, when we made our recent move to new, larger offices, they all took up our invitation of joining us and sharing the space. We'd employ them if they'd let us!
Mike Storey is our preferred graphic designer. Paul openly admits that Mike is better than him at design; in fact working with Mike has enabled Paul to focus on his own areas of expertise, so it's a win-win situation. The only problem that Mike tends to create is that our customers love all the designs he creates and find it difficult to choose between them. Come to us for web design and most likely Mike will be handling the graphic design. We also wholeheartedly recommend him for brand design (visual identity), brochures, and other graphic design services; you can find him at Whype. Let him know we recommended him!
Darren Moloney is a search engine expert, and the only one we think is worth talking to. Over the years we've been approached by a number of SEO companies, but none could back up their claims with hard evidence (and usually disappeared as soon as we asked for concrete examples). Darren was the exception. We love that his approach is transparent and actually trains up his clients rather than making them reliant on him. The only problem is taming him: in the first project we worked on together, we exceeded the customer's target for new business in the first 3 weeks and they asked us to turn down the tap. His search engine marketing services can be found at All Things Web. Be sure to mention that you found him here first!
Leo Pitt is a web developer with a special talent for Adobe Flash. Flash used to be known for annoying animations with ‘Skip Intro’ written on them, but has matured into the plug in of choice for video content (e.g. YouTube). It also lets us put Web 2.0 support hand-in-hand with rich interactivity, such as our cutting-edge Design-a-Tiara feature. Leo has the rare skills for making this happen. You can find him through Function Design, and once again, be sure to let him know he came with our recommendation.
A note for recruitment agencies
We already work closely with a couple of recruitment agencies who we have built a good relationship with. There's always the possibility that we might look to alternatives, e.g. for specialist recruitment needs, so we don't mind being approached... we just don't want to be inundated.
Please take a note of the following request as it will give you the greatest chance of getting our business:
- Make your first contact by phone, introduce yourself and let us know why you think we might be interested. It helps if you already know a bit about us first, so if you're reading this, that's a good start!
- If we're interested, we'll probably ask you send us an email with your details.
- Do not add us to a mailing list and do not send us any CVs without an explicit request from us. Even if we decide to use your services, we will ask to finalise the terms before receiving any CVs – it just keeps things clearer regarding who introduced whom.
- We'll probably be happy to receive a catch-up call every 6-9 months, no more. Ask us first.
- Finally, note that we treat unsolicited emails that come with CVs as spam, and it can lead to your company becoming blacklisted.
